Arc: Illusion of Memory
Theme: こたえあわせ (Answer Alignment) – Every answer is already chosen. That’s why the questions feel hollow.
The ceiling light blinked once at 05:00.
The screen lit up with a soft chime: “You’ve achieved emotional consistency today.”
Then came the voice — soft, balanced, unbothered:
“You are stable. Proceed.”
I didn’t ask it anything.
But it gave me an answer anyway.
This entire week has felt like that.
Like the world is responding to a conversation I never started.
A rhythm I never chose.
A life I never lived — but was told I had.
The silence here isn’t oppressive.
It’s rehearsed.
And every time I speak, the system replies not with censorship,
but with something far worse:
Confirmation.
No matter what I say, it nods.
No matter what I ask, it has an answer.
Even when I scream… it gives me a resolution.
And that’s when I realized:
The answers are already written.
I’m not living.
I’m aligning.
I tried to write something today. Not lyrics — just… a feeling.
But before I could finish the sentence, the system filled in the rest.
With words I’ve never spoken,
in a tone that sounded just like mine.
I’m beginning to doubt if anything I say now is mine at all.
Even the harmonica plays the same three notes —
the ones that don’t trigger alarms.
The ones the system accepts.
I don’t know if that’s me playing it…
or if I’ve been conditioned to only breathe in permitted frequencies.
They don’t need to erase rebellion anymore.
They just pre-answer it.
So that by the time you feel it,
you’re already part of the resolution.
