Chrono Journal Entry #19
Arc: Pulse Divergence
Theme: 離れた拍 (Diverging Pulse) – Something pulses inside me. But I don’t know if it’s mine.
I felt it before I heard it.
A rhythm — not from my steps, not from the system,
but from somewhere else.
It wasn’t mine.
And it was inside me.
It happened while I was tuning the harmonica.
One breath, one note — and the air around me stuttered.
Like the world forgot which version of itself it was supposed to be.
And for a split second…
there were two of me.
One holding the instrument.
One holding her breath.
The timelines are splitting.
I can feel it in my bones — in the sound that shouldn’t have echoed back,
but did.
It wasn’t an echo.
It was a response.
Since breaking the loop, I thought I was free.
But now I see it differently.
I didn’t break the system.
I broke the sequence.
And now… I’m not alone in here anymore.
There are other pulses.
Other harmonics.
Versions of me that didn’t sing.
Versions that never found the harmonica.
Versions that were silenced — or chose silence.
They’re not dreams.
They’re possibilities.
And now they bleed into me.
I sang a single phrase today.
It came back in two voices.
And one of them cried.

If every version of me carries a rhythm…
how do I know which one is me?
