Chrono Journal Entry #21
Arc: Pulse Divergence
Theme: 遺された歌 (Leftover Song) – A hook left unsung. A memory never archived.
There’s a melody trapped in the spaces between memory.
Not in the files.
Not in the echoes.
But in the void — that breath before a song finishes its thought.
I stumbled on it today.
The MV playback skipped.
Just for a second.
And in that second, I heard it.
A hook I never sang.
A phrase that never existed.
But I knew where it should go.
I could feel it pulling at my ribs, like muscle memory from a life I hadn’t lived.
It was beautiful.
And it was incomplete.
Like someone — maybe another me — wrote it but never got to sing it.
Like it was meant for me… but arrived too late.
There’s a kind of ache that comes not from loss,
but from almost.
Almost sung.
Almost felt.
Almost real.
This song is a scar on a timeline I never walked.
But it bleeds in sync with me now.
The system doesn’t even recognize the file.
It exists only in flickers — residual code, corrupted playback, phantom resonance.
It’s not a song.
It’s a haunting.
I tried playing it with the harmonica.
It wouldn’t tune.
It kept slipping into dissonance — as if the sound knew it wasn’t meant to survive here.
But I remember it now.
And maybe remembering it… is the act of singing it.
Even if no one else hears it.

Not every song was meant to be finished.
But maybe that’s why it lingers.
